review of Stuart Turton’s novel The 7 ½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

A clock drums up its courage and ticks.

This was a pleasure to listen to, from beginning to end. Time loops are one of my favorite plot devices, and I enjoyed both the murder mystery and the meta-mystery. And I love that it’s ultimately a story about redemption and forgiveness.

Memorable though dubious life-hack:

I loathe getting to know people, so whenever I meet somebody I like, I just assume a friendship immediately. It saves a great deal of time in the long run.
