The best way not to get mired in same-man/same-river paradoxes is not to cross the river the first time.

Cool premise, clever writing; ends up going in a direction I did not anticipate at all. I haven’t always been as enamored with Tchaikovsky’s novellas as with his novels, but I really enjoyed this one.
